Sugar Marina Hotel -POP- Kata Beach

Book the poolside room!

Pros: This place was fantastic. Our pool side room was the absolute best place to relax. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. Pool is fun with a water slide, some shallow areas, and a bubble bench. Location is right off the main street (10 minutes to the beach... And they do have a shuttle). The restaurant right out front was delicious.

Cons: Bed was a bit hard but still very comfy. Lots of kids and families.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Sugar Marina Hotel POP Kata Beach with our family. The hotel is modern, stylish, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable for both adults and children. The pool area was fantastic and became a favorite spot for our kids, and the location is perfect with just a short walk to Kata Beach, restaurants, and shops. What truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. Max at the reception was absolutely amazing — always kind, smiling, and extremely helpful. She went out of her way to assist us with recommendations and made sure our family felt welcome and well taken care of. Her warmth and professionalism made a big difference to our overall experience. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and the whole hotel has a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. We can highly recommend this hotel to families visiting Phuket, and we would definitely love to stay here again.

Pros: We stayed at the hotel at the end of January – beginning of February 2026. Overall, we liked the hotel. The staff were polite, friendly, and always ready to help. The rooms were quite good, clean, and had a pleasant view. The service was at a high level — bed linen was changed every day, and room cleaning was excellent. Breakfasts were served in a welcoming atmosphere: the staff were friendly and often greeted us with a smile. The breakfasts were fairly varied and included everything needed. Sometimes it was crowded, but that was understandable since the hotel was fully booked. Tables were cleared quickly, food was replenished promptly, and there was enough for everyone. The pool is beautiful, but we mostly visited it in the evening, as we preferred going to the beach, which is about a 10–15 minute walk from the hotel. Special thanks to Chaba for her attentiveness, friendliness, and excellent work. The hotel left a pleasant impression, and we would be happy to return again.

Cons: A small downside is the lack of wardrobes in the rooms.

Very nice hotel for families with kids

Pros: The family rooms were very comfortable, our kids really enjoyed the slide from the double bed was very attractive! Breakfast was rich and satisfied. I mostly want to maintain the hotel manager Muky, that personally checks with us, if we are comfortable, and let us stay for late check out

Cons: We could help some more electricity points in the room

Friendly and helpful staff, a spacious family room, a beautiful main pool area, and thoughtful extras like beach towels

Pros: We loved the staff at Sugar Marina POP and received excellent service from Chaka, Film, Zaw and Meaw — thank you! ❤️ They were always helpful and in a great mood. Breakfast was very nice, and we really appreciated the extra beach towels, the beach bag for carrying children’s toys or sandy towels, and the beach mat. Our Family Biggy room was very spacious and comfortable for a family. The main pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and we enjoyed it more than the children’s pool.

Cons: The children’s pool was a bit of a disappointment. It was cute, but too deep for our 2- and 5-year-old to play safely. The pool was also separated from the main pool area, and there were no chairs or sunbeds nearby for parents to sit and watch the children. It felt like we were swimming in the private pool area of other guests’ rooms with pool access. In addition, our room did not have any mirror other than the one in the bathroom, which was quite far away and made it difficult, for example, to do makeup.

Exceeded expectations - great hotel for adults with kids!

Pros: The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was wonderful and clean. Nothing was too much trouble! Staff kindly helped us with extra requests and booking taxi’s. The breakfast was relaxed (as it could be for a buffet) and facilities great (pool, kids area, room service etc) we didn’t want to leave and already planning to come back!

Cons: Nothing I can think of!

Beautiful spacious family room and with big bathroom and swimming pool access.

Pros: The spacious clean room which also had direct pool access. We also loved the welcome drink and snack upon arrival.

Pros: Good hotel with friendly staff. Room was a little small but it wasn’t a problem for us.

Cons: Maybe the lighting in the hallways could be improved. Also the tv location it should be in the center of the room
