Katathani Phuket Beach Resort - SHA Extra Plus

Pros: Direct beach access, nice grounds with lots of flowers and trees, good, polite staff.

Cons: If you would like to have a sunbathing bed around the pools or with the views on to the beach you have to go there around 7am to get one and if you not there by 7am most of the bedside are covered by beach towels and you can not get one that you liked. And some chairs with beach towels on them never been used during this day. Resort has swimming pool for adults only, which is lovely, unfortunately nobody reinforces this rules and some parents with children are there anyway. If you are staying there for two - three weeks and you taking accommodation with breakfast you stack with the same very limited variety of food, backed deserts are very limited variety and not very good quality, which is very unusual for five stars resorts. Rooms are spacious, but way outdated. Single glass windows are not helpful in this hotel environment, air-conditioning not coping with the heat outside. Cleaning is not up to five stars resort standard. We have stayed there for eight nights and nobody wet moped the floor in our room during our stay.

The staff and manger looked after us as our flight was cancelled twice and we extended our stay

Pros: Large complex with many pools next to the beach and food was fabulous! Especially the wide variety of breakfast

Perfect stay

Pros: A wonderful place. Excellent location next to a lovely beach. The resort is beautiful, very peaceful, clean, comfortable, with friendly staff. The grounds are spacious, green, well-maintained. Great swimming pools, especially a separate pool for adults only, no problem to find a sunbed. Many restaurants with good cuisine. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with stunning views of the ocean and sunset. The buffet breakfast was wonderful, varied and delicious. There are several cafes nearby offering traditional, Japanese, and European cuisine. Relaxing, comfortable, high quality stay. I highly recommend this hotel; I would be happy to come back here again.

Pros: The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! I want to mention especially Anna - nothing seemed to be a problem for her, everything was solved immediately and professionally, with a big smile in the face!

Nice family hotel

Pros: Fantastic for children with lots of pools to choose from for kids young and old. Nice grounds to walk around, lots of choices for food and a lovely beach although it’s a public beach and you have to pay if you want a bed but it’s easy to pitch up by the pool and pop over to the beach when you fancy. Beach is lovely for sunset.

Cons: Confusing set up with restaurants, lots of different ones owned by hotel mixed in with local places. We wanted to go to the hotels steak restaurant one night but it was way overpriced.

Good resort, would be interesting to see how busy it gets when development on other side of road is completed

Pros: Good facilities. Adult pool very useful given it was busy with lots of families. Not as busy as other parts of Phuket

Relaxing comfortable pleasant stay

Pros: Well laid out, comfortable, clean, good access to pools and beach, close enough by taxi to other activities, staff very happy welcoming and polite

Cons: There is some building work the other side of the hotel that didn’t interfere to much but it’s there

Excellent and looking forward to my next trip there
