Great location, friendly and helpful staff 

Pros: Quiet room at rear of the building even though close to noisy bars. Air-conditioner very quiet and working well. Shower good pressure and temperature adjustment working well. Powerful bum gun LOL. Very friendly staff. Walking distance to beach and bars etc. Close to the gym, where I like to work out, at Yorkshire Hotel. Rear of building had a nice green leafy outlook and up to the hill behind.

Cons: On first appearance, the foyer and the staircase area did not look clean but once I got to the room, it was clean inside. The room and furnishings are very old, but that was not a problem for me. There was no cleaning for 10 days when I was there but they did it the next day after I asked for it. The refrigerator was too cold and I was unable to adjust the temperature so my water was frozen. However, I did not ask anyone to rectify this problem and I’m sure they would have had I asked. The street leading to the main road is full of gay bars & men working in the massage parlours. It was a bit uncomfortable for me walking past them as they kept offering their services, but not such a big deal. I just ignored them and kept walking.

Cons: The lift needs upgrading and my balcony was home to pigeons which obviously meant I wasn't able to use the balcony at all.

Staying close to Bangla road, budget friendly

Pros: The location is very close to Bangla Road, which is extremely convenient. There are plenty of halal restaurants nearby. The room was spacious, the internet connection was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great stay!

Cons: The lift is extremely narrow and cannot accommodate more than two people at a time, and it also moves quite slowly. No dental kits were provided, and the towels had noticeable stains.
