Kata Bai D - SHA Certificate Hotel

Pros: Nice hotel, near the beach and all activities, but far enough not to be on the super crouded area on the Main Street. There are free coffe and water all the time. You can also make a fast sandwich with butter and jam for free and available all the time. The host was very polite and helpful.

Cons: The bath can be renovated, but it is not a big deal. Our room was with street look, so it was a bit noisy.

Pros: Sam &kee were very welcoming not far from beach very central location luved it 😀

Pros: What makes this place a real find is the care and attention to your well-being provided by the owner, Sam. This attention runs from your booking to your departure. I had a number of long taxi rides to make during my stay. 100% reliable with what I believe were better than average prices. Furthermore, he made time to simply chat if you wanted to. His other staff - cleaners etc were also very well-meaning. Nice touch to make coffee / tea / bread and jam freely available 24 / 7. The ground floor area can be used to sit and eat or have a BYO drink. The graffiti all over the walls of this area pays tribute to Sam and the place from the time it opened - over 10 years ago - to now. Travellers from all parts echoed each other in their praise for Kata Bai D Inn. ½ the price or less of a fancy hotel, twice the character.

A home away from home

Pros: Staff are the best part of this hotel. Sam made us feel welcome and helped us organise the trip months before our actual trip. On the trip, I got badly sick (very upset stomach), I won’t sugarcoat it, I didn’t make it to my room and got sick on the stairs, staff were so understanding. Sam even made me a generous bowl of white rice to get me something to eat. Deng (I think is the name of the lady who welcomed us) was so lovely and also showed genuine interest in helping us during our stay. Toast, jam, water and coffee was available 24hrs a day and the aircon in the rooms was very good. Also, 5m walk to an amazing surf beach. If you want to feel safe and in a community-like place, book Kata Bai D Inn.

Cons: Beds were probably a bit hard, and there was no lift (although the no lift is not really a problem when you travel light)

Absolutely fabulous !!!

Pros: Location. Location. Location. I don't think it is possible to stay this close to Kata Beach (a stone's throw away) while still escaping the hustle & bustle of main street. Sam, his family, & his team keep the place spotless. They are friendliness & helpfulness personified. If you want a quiet, minimalist, yet solid place to stay; look no further.

Wonderful staff and good value for money

Pros: I love how accommodating Sam is. He was very responsive on my inquiries via WhatsApp. Deng takes good care of me and went above and beyond in making sure I am comfortable. Meow the night duty receptionist is also very helpful.

Cons: I wasn't given information beforehand that my room is on the 4th floor and that there's no elevator on the building. Only 2 working electric fans at the lounge/reception area. More is needed as the weather is very hot and humid. Oven toaster needs to be repaired or replaced. 2 bulbs in the room isn't working.

Pros: Very nice hosts! Especially that they have thought of details, such as towels for beach, refreshening watermelon in the fridge, option to make some sandwiches. The room itself was simple, but very clean and also had a rack to hang swimming suits, towels. Location was also nice, close to beach. Overall a nice stay for the value.

Cons: There were a lot of nights where other guests were sooo loud in the corridor and as the walls where thin, could hear all the noise and talk and stumping, it was disturbing. Also the bathroom looked a little outdated and would need some refreshing up.

A welcoming and well-located stay in Kata Beach, with outstanding hospitality and easy access to bot

Pros: Kata Bai D was the perfect start for our two week trip in Thailand. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Kata Beach, but still close to all the action just 10 minutes away. The beach is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay great.

Cons: Our room had windows directed to the road nearby. Bring earplugs if you are sensitive, because during peak hours the traffic outside can be quite noisy. Not a dealbreaker for us.

Samazing!!!

Pros: Property was in a great location, but not busy and crowded. It was the perfect location if you’re looking to have a relaxing stay.

Cons: Nothing! Samazing made us feel at home.
