Cool bananas
Pros: A very special place. Make more time for it than you think. Everyone wants to stay longer when they get there. I’m planning 2 weeks next year
Cons: Nothing. Don’t miss Crazy Horse bar across the road, it compliments The Bananas very well

A wonderful experience of the Thailand of yester years.
Pros: The other residents were mainly young backpackers and it was a pleasure to be in their company. We had some lovely interesting conversations with other guests in the communal area which doubles as the restaurant. The location is fabulous with loads of cheeky monkeys about attracting the attention of the owners five little dogs. The spectacle of watching the large fruit bats flying in from the islands just after sunset is worth seeing. I have been travelling to Thailand since I was a backpacker myself back in the late 80’s and 90’s and this is the nearest we have come to experiencing the delights of the former Thailand.
Cons: This is mainly a backpackers hostel with some air conditioned bungalows. Our stay in one of those bungalows was pleasant. To encounter a monkey sitting on the wall of the shower which has an open sky view early in the morning as my wife used the toilet is something she will treasure forever. There is nothing we didn’t like about our stay here apart from the current owner - Oli is in the process of retiring. I have a feeling he will be missed!

Fabulous stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Pros: Amazing hostel surrounded by nature. Glorious sunsets and lots of cheeky monkeys. Brett provides daily fun activities. Will definitely be back. Free drinking water and great restaurant on sight. Very social.
Cons: No ac in the dorms. The fans work well at night but difficult to keep cool during the day. Sea is great for swimming in when the tides in.

Best hostel in Thailand
Pros: I loved my stay here so much I’ve been recommending it to everyone on my trip! The best place I’ve stayed in Thailand for sure. It felt like an escape from all the over touristy busy hostels. Great common area, great views, very chill vibe, easy to be social, amazing activities, the bungalows are cheap, you can do glowing plankton straight off the pier - couldn’t recommend more

Perfect nature, relaxing vacation.
Pros: Perfect nature! I was literally 50 m. Away from the sea and woke up every morning with an amazing sea view. The atmosphere was very nice. The resort offered many additional activities.
Cons: I had a few encounters with frogs in my bathroom, however, I did expect this as I am staying in a bungalow in the jungle. 😁

Cons: The monkeys are a bit crazy but also adds to the experience

Fabulous, well-run paradise
Pros: Stunning remote hostel/bungalow resort suitable for solo travellers or couples/friends. Off-the-beaten-track-vibe with basic local restaurants and stunning beaches nearby. A refreshing change from Thailand’s busy tourist islands. Very well-organised set-up — good food, laundry, group activities, airport shuttle etc.
Cons: I stayed in a bamboo cabin which was charming, but the trade-off is that the walls are thin and you can hear monkeys, dogs, wind and the road. I would probably pick a dorm in the main building if you’re not so comfortable with that kind of proximity to nature, or splash out on a brick bungalow.
