Very enjoyable stay in a very pleasant hotel.

Pros: Excellent location, especially if it helps you to be closer to the airport. Beautiful setting and gardens with fabulous lush vegetation. Very lovely staff and well run hotel.

Cons: Nothing to dislike per say, but it’s looking slightly ‘tired’ in places.

Incredible honeymoon

Pros: We stayed at the Slate for our honeymoon and it was absolutely fantastic, lovely staff who added lots of extra touches, especially Allen, highly recommend this amazing place

Amazing luxurious and pampering

Pros: Amazing hotel like staying in a botanical garden rooms are so spacious bath and day bed on the balcony and great beaches food nearby with lots of great food stalls

Pros: 1. Amazing, highly polite and welcoming staff 2. Amazing infrastructure, Nature and gardens were awesome 3. Swimming pools and bars - one of the best I've ever been 4. Specifically designated areas for kids and for adults - pools were split for adults only and for kids. 5. 24 hours access to the beach 6. Amazing breakfast

Cons: I liked everything except room privacy - private villas should be private. Our villa was next to the pool, and everyone in the pool could see into our villa. Also, our private pool was easily seen from neighbouring rooms

Luxurious Oasis with Exceptional Service and Stunning Surroundings

Pros: An outstanding hotel !!! We stayed in January 2026 as a couple. Absolutely outstanding stay from the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The hotel’s lush, beautifully maintained gardens create a tranquil oasis, and the unique, artistic decor throughout the property adds a special touch of elegance and character. The swimming pools are stunning, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind, we always found a sun-lounger. We loved how close the hotel is to the beach—just a short stroll and you’re on the sand with lots of little restaurants and shops and bars and massage shops. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Thanks a million !

Cons: The gardens are enormous and some of the rooms are near the border with the beach and all the bars. Our room number 3228 block N was so close to the bars on the beach so that the noise from the beach was easy to hear. It didn't bother us, but if you're very sensitive to noise it's worth asking for a room situated in the center of the grounds where you hear only the birds in the trees and nothing else.

Treat yourself to this amazing place at least a few nights…

A perfect family holiday in an excellent location

Pros: Very easy transfer as the hotel is close to the airport but sufficiently far away not to be bothered by aircraft noise. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and no request was too much trouble. We booked two family rooms which were well equipped, very spacious and close to the main pool. Breakfasts were excellent with a very wide variety of different options. We usually enjoyed lunch at the Underground Cafe and split evening meals between the main restaurant and the local beach restaurants which were all good value. I would make a special mention of the Kids Club which offered a wide range of different options from pool volley ball to Thai boxing which kept our 3 grandchildren (ages 7 to 12) very happily occupied. Our whole family (7 in total) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to The Slate

Cons: Black Ginger is a fine dining Thai restaurant and although I cannot fault the food I felt that it was over priced.
